Energy Savings with an Oscillating Fan

September 4th, 2010

In the current economy, many families across the world are would like to save money on their cooling bills.  A good way to save money is to turn off the air conditioner and use an oscillating fan.

Unlike other fans, oscillating fans offer directional cooling.  Many of the more expensive oscillating fan models can rotate at 180 degrees or more.  Many consumers typically select a lower cost model that has a limited degree of rotation, but enough which is ideal for most any room in their home.

The size of a fan blade directly relates to how much air an oscillating fan can distribute.  Many consumers purchase a 18″ oscillating fan, which is suitable for a medium size room.  While shopping for a fan, the shopper should always consider how much air circulation a room needs.

Oscillating fans also are sold with a wide selection of mounting styles.  Some models are mounted on pedestals, which is commonly referred to as a tower.  Other oscillating fans are made with a small base and are made for use on a desk, table or another piece of furniture that has a flat and steady surface.  The advantage of a pedestal fan is that it will not reduce any table space.

Nearly each oscillating fan being sold at this time offers a base set of features.  These features include variable speed controls.   Some of the more pricey fans also offer remote controls as well as timers to shut off automatically.

Most retail stores stock the major brands of oscillating fans including Holmes, Hunter and Honeywell.  All of these fans will last for a long time providing they are cleaned and properly maintained.  As with most small appliances, fans typically ship with a one year manufacturers warranty.  However, most oscillating fan owners discover that their fan will last for a long time without the need of any warranty or service other then the infrequent cleaning.

With the summer weather coming, many home owners will find the need to stay comfortable in their homes at the most affordable price.  Oscillating fans can improve comfort through improved air circulation and diminish the need to use air conditioning.  And since most oscillating fans are very cheap, the purchase price can quickly be recovered through just one summer of lowered air conditioning usage.

Law Of Energy Of Conservation Violation – Over Unity Power Generation From Magnetic Generators

September 3rd, 2010

Not so good news on another electrical power price hike from the energy company upsets a lot of people including myself. Are you too? If you are, then you must be interested to read this report on how you can crank out less expensive electricity out of a do-it-yourself magnetic electric generator. It might be the answer to the expensive of power fuel and the catalyst to the air pollution issue of our ecosystem. Magnetic electric generator is the newest development for the generation of low-priced home made energy. Professionals generally do not think that no generator can give off free energy but we say that yes it is possible now to produce almost free electricity. If that is true, this free electricity might help save you money from your monthly electricity bills. Revolutionary inventors declare that magnetic generator is cheaper than any other alternate options of generating free power that include solar power panel, wind power generator and other fuel based generators. By comparison, magnetic power generators are more energy efficient compared to the solar power panels and to the wind powered generators. If the local community of technological organization will promote this new concept, then I highly believe this will be a great worry to the present power utility business in the whole world. I will not be surprised if we are going to see a big opposition from these utility organizations to shield their vested interests. It is really a grave threat because the magnetic generator requires lesser energy to operate though in exchange it gives greater and enormous amount of electricity which is without charge. Imagine you do not have to pay a single penny for this production of electricity. It is really a fantastic solution to the fuel crisis and to the worsening global warming of our planet. If properly supported and developed, this system has the ability and capability to provide power into your homes. In comparison to solar power panels and wind power generators, a magnetic electricity generator is not affected from any type of weather conditions. It does not matter whether there is sunlight or none or it is night or daylight. It only needs magnetic force which is produced by specially made magnet’s attractive and repulsive force which in turn generates perpetual rotating motion. It is an accepted principle that electricity can be generated by electromagnetism. If you compare it with other alternative renewable energy sources, you will find it far better in its benefits than any other alternative. One example is that you cannot install it in every home because solar panels are large in size and require huge space for its installation. In most of the living conditions i.e. most of the people living in cities have space limitations. The most ideal device under this condition is putting in a magnetic power generator. You do not need a big space to install a magnetic electric generator in your home. Magnetic electric generator could be the best option today to counter the high cost of energy fuel and worsening global environment condition. There are many manifestations all over the world that home made magnetic electric generator will not only reduce your energy bills but is also helping in making your community a friendly environment. Absolutely, it does not emit any toxic waste at all. Do not you think it is about time that you and I start to do something about this energy crisis? If you want to know more about alternative renewable energy resources, please feel free to subscribe to my mini series report. Just click this link here: http://orlystore.com/magnetic-generators/

Cedar Tree’s Remarkable Oil Content

September 3rd, 2010

Cedar wood is a type of wood that is nearly impossible to duplicate. It was addressed as a symbol of power, greatness, and immortality. Thus, it was given the holy right to have its own names depending on its place of growth and its purpose. Aside from its properties of durability and stability as indoor or outdoor wood furniture, Cedar brings back pleasant memories and comfortable feeling while sitting on the Cedar furniture.

Cedar became part of the history. Even before, it is regarded as a high quality material that can be used on anything. Talking about history, it was the Cedar wood tree that was used by Solomon to build the Temple in Jerusalem, Thus, it is a proof that Cedar personified beauty, stability, immortality, strength, prosperity, divine pride and dignity. It is also used as a measure of exchange and much more valuable than gold. In ancient Egypt, Cedar resin was one of the main components of the balsams used for mummification.

The Cedar trees trap the energy of the sun and cosmos, transform it, and thereby provide for life on planet. Cedar contains oils which has a lot of benefits. It is a rich source of a-cedrene, b-cedrene, cedrol, widdrol, thujopsene, and a group of sesquiterpenes. Owing to these, the essential oil offers several therapeutic properties. Cedar oil is can be used effectively for medicinal purposes and cosmetology. Moreover, Cedar oil has a smell of the fresh mountain air. The Cedar oil is often pale yellow to light orange in color and it is sticky. This smell helps to clear the respiratory system of excess plegm and catarrh, while improving the skin and clearing up dandruff, it also sorts out urinary tract infections, as well as bladder and kidney disorders. The Cedar wood oil also treats dermatitis, cure reddened and chapped skin of hands, and heal cracks around the nails.

Cedar oil can be also consumed as the base for paints by the ancient Sumerians. And also, believe it or not, it is one of the persuasive and effective preparations in cosmetology and dermatology. It is in fact called “miraculous doctor for the hair (especially the one damaged by coloring or perming).” The oil restores the integrity of the keratin layer; its growth; imparts shine, luxuriance, and a healthy, well-cared-for appearance.

Ever wondered how this oil can be extracted from the tree itself? Steam distillation is the first way to extract oils from the wood pieces and sawdust of Cedar wood tree. The latest method of extracting oil is by using liquid carbon dioxide (LC-CO2) under pressure.

Newborn Size Cloth Diapers

September 3rd, 2010

Newborn cloth diapers are a much-argued area of cloth diapering. I began cloth diapering my baby before she was even 1 day old. She is now almost 2 years old and we still use cloth diapers every day. Newborn cloth diapers are easy - and you can do it!

Some people are afraid to start using cloth diapers at the very beginning. They are concerned that the fabric may be stained with meconium (the nasty black poops babies have the first few days). Yes, meconium can stain. Using a diaper liner prevent stains and sunlight will removethe stains. Sunlight is a natural whitener and is cheap too!

The other major concern new parents have is that using cloth diapers will be so hard they can’t do it while they are adjusting to parenting. There are easy reusable diapers and hard cloth diapers. Choose the easy ones and it will all be simple enough you can do it even in your sleep – and you will feel like you are sleep-walking those first few weeks.

Using cloth diaper wipes is much simpler than using disposable wipes – and gentler on babies skin. Wipes also work as doublers for heavy wetters.

The simplest newborn cloth diapers are all in one diapers. These are one-piece diapers that have a moisture resistant outer layer so they don’t need a separate cover. The inside has an absorbent soaker sewn in – so there is no need for stuffing or finding pieces in the laundry. All in ones (AIOs) are as easy as cloth diapering gets for babies of any size. They go on just like a disposable except that they are reusable – making your life easier since you won’t run out of diapers as long as you have access to a washing machine. A few popular AIOs include Lil Joeys and Little for Now all in ones.

The next most popular option is a fitted diaper with a waterproof diaper cover or a wool diaper cover. Popular fitted diapers include Kissaluvs and Little for Now sized fitteds. The most economical alternative for newborn cloth diapers is prefolds with covers. Again, you can choose a waterproof cover or a wool diaper cover.

Chinese or Indian prefolds come in a teentsy size that will fit up to about 10 pounds and a larger “infant” size that will fit from about 7-15 pounds. The larger size may be a bit bulky the first couple of weeks, but they will fit much longer. The itty bitty size fits great for most newborns, but is quickly outgrown. Prefolds are very inexpensive, so you can easily buy two or three dozen and only have to wash every 2-3 days. Just be sure to get enough covers. You can get by for a few days with 4 covers, but you’ll be a lot happier with 6-8 covers.

One size diapers may not fit will on a newborn, depending on the brand and the baby. Some brands don’t fit well until close to 10 pounds.

To keep things as easy as possible, we kept a zippered cloth diaper wet bag, a few diapers, cloth diaper wipes and a bottle of wipes solution near our bed so midnight (or midday) diaper changes were as easy as possible. No matter which newborn cloth diapers you choose, you’ll quickly adjust to using them.

Nursing Scrubs in Fleece

September 2nd, 2010

Amazingly warm and soft, polyester fleece medical scrubs made by medical scrubs e-tailer Sassy Scrubs have become wildly popular with nurses and other staff who struggle to stay warm in frosty temperature departments, or who live in areas where winter temperatures are frigid.  Warm, yet not heavy, and almost impervious just about all stains, polyester fleece has become a well-known go-to material for unique medical scrubs jackets and even scrubs pants.

Anyone who ever has selected warm fleece as any garment is quickly a polyester fleece fan, but where did this ground breaking fabric originate?  Interestingly, polyester fleece was initially developed predominately for extraordinarily frigid environments experienced in mountain climbing and polar expeditions. The material was developed completely from polyester over twenty years ago.  During the next dozen years, the wonderfully warm fabric was accepted by more winter sports enthusiasts.  Fleece became popular with ski athletes and other outdoor athletes as a lightweight, warm layer to stave off the extreme bitter cold.

The awareness and popularity of fleece garments soared in the 90’s when the general populace became accustomed to the warm, fuzzy fabric and began demanding fleece outerwear in new colors and patterns.  Today, fleece is currently finding new niches, namely in medical apparel, as made by Sassy Scrubs.  Nurse and hospital staff have discovered that the versatility of polyester fleece medical scrubs extends their usefulness beyond the OR; beyond the backyard; and beyond cuddlesome leisure wear.  Fleece medical scrubs can span work and social situations to be acceptable in nearly any environment where warmth and comfort are needed.

The Truth about Radiant Barrier

September 2nd, 2010

Radiant Barrier is also known as reflective barriers. They inhibit transfer of heat by thermal radiation. Heat can also be carried via convection and conduction. Theses Radiant Barrier are not capable to stop this heat exchange by any indicates.

Through thermal radiation, energy is emitted by each and every material and the extent of which is dependent on surface temperature and the relative ability of the material to emit radiation which in turn is directly proportional to heat radiated at particular wavelengths. Reflectivity of the substance is calculated through the amount of energy reflected by the substance at a particular wavelength.

For those wavelengths at which the Radiant Barrier function, there emissivity is to be maintained low as much as .1 or less. Generally for buildings, the range of wavelength in the mid and the long-infrared spectrum lies between 3-15 micrometers.  The value of reflectivity isn’t fixed for Radiant Barrier. This is simply because both emissivity and reflectivity don’t add up to one for different wavelengths. Thus, low thermal emissivity could be used to create surfaces that are visibly dark in color. For proper performance; Radiant Barrier need to face towards open surfaces like air or vacuum to ensure that there is no radiation.

Radiant barrier applications:

NASA developed a substance created of a plastic substrate having a coating of aluminum deposited through vapors, which was light and reflective. This substance is commonly known as space blanket. The main use of space blanket is to guard astronauts, spacecrafts and equipments from radiation and to retain heat as in space temperature fluctuations are common. As heat transfer in space is possible only through radiation therefore, Radiant Barrier are more efficient and useful in space rather than on earth where the heat transfer is also possible through convection and conduction even after deploying Radiant Barrier.. However it does not mean that radiant barrier insulation is not useful for energy efficiency of your home.

Radiant Barrier is the most effective equipments for minimizing internal heat loss.

Two ways through which Radiant Barrier can be set up are as follows:

1.Radiant Barrier Decking

2.Radiant Barrier Attic Foil.

The roof of the building absorbs solar energy on sunny days and this heat is radiated downwards to the floor. By placing a radiant barrier in the attic floor the heat is reflected keeping the top surface cool and simultaneously preventing the heat from entering the rooms. This makes a radiant barrier an efficient reflecting device. you should read radiant barrier reviews before getting one installed at your home.

The traditional technique of insulating an attic and a radiant barrier aren’t the same as each other. Although, they functions similarly but internally they work differently. The areas close to a radiant barrier are cooler as it minimizes the heat radiated while the traditional method of attic insulation achieves this by means of convection. Air is trapped within insulation in this technique. R-value is the scale which rates this technique. Radiant Barrier don’t carry R-value as they are dependent on numerous factors.

Radiant Barrier comes in different ranges. The price primarily is dependent upon the one who is setting it up. Additional factors consist of the additional functions which some individuals prefer to include in it. The price is different for a new house and an existing one.

Therefore Radiant Barrier is very much useful systems nowadays. They are of vital importance and preferred these days.

Have You Learned Basic Survival Strategies Yet?

September 2nd, 2010

Right now, everyone needs to learn some survival skills. Disasters, whether natural or man-made, could occur regardless of where you live. Instead of getting frustrated about not having a survival guide available to you, you should be more prepared for anything even when you think you are protected from any emergencies.

Individuals like to believe that nothing terrible will ever happen, and that everything will stay the same, day in and day out. They think that they have paid their dues and there can never be anything but a out of harm’s way life for them and their family. Here is the truth that you should accept: no one is spared when natural or man-made emergencies crop up.

Do not be one of the many who have never tried preparing a bug out kit, a survival kit or a simple emergency kit. At the very least, you must learn the basics of constructing emergency shelters just in case you need a protected place to hide in when there is an emergency.

Two Things You Need to Learn to Survive

1. Survival bag Research

Gather all of the materials and supplies that you and your family will need just in case you need to evacuate. Your survival kit should contain enough supplies to keep you warm, to keep you hydrated and nourished, and to keep you from bleeding to death.

Bear in mind, authorities may only be able to give you help after a day or two. While waiting for assistance, make sure you do all you can to stay alive. Disaster assistance varies from one state to another, and some states may have less resources for disaster management. But it can’t be denied that no matter where you are, there is always a waiting time for help to arrive and bring you to safety. Your goal is to stay alive during that time.

2. Combat Training

Some individuals are adamant about combat survival training in order to protect themselves from thieves and predators during emergencies. In emergencies, individuals are more desperate to stay alive. Some individuals become so desperate that they will attempt to take what you have in order to keep themselves safe. Moreover, some criminals may use the chaotic scenario as cover for their pillaging. In any case, you should learn at least the basics of combat training to defend yourself.

Being unprepared is what really makes individuals panic when disaster strikes. The impending danger of dying or starving is a big factor, but this fear is magnified when people realize that they are not equipped with the skills to survive the disaster. If you really care about your family, investing a part of your time to learn about survival is essential.

Will BP Oil Spill Spur Environmental Movement?

September 2nd, 2010

As oil continues to spill into the Gulf questions remain about the aftermath, both short and long term.   At what point will the oil spill be contained?  When will the full extent of the damage be known?   Will off-shore oil drilling have a future?   At the moment the priority is stopping the oil spill. While government and BP investigations will likely take more than a year to fully conclude, oil spill lawyers that filed early class action lawsuits against BP and others may lead the investigatory charge while proving their cases.

The oil spill off Santa Barbara, California in 1969 helped initiate and give momentum to the environmental movement.  Any major drilling reform will come from Congress; however, the oil & gas industry contributes substantially  to many election campaigns and virtually every Congressperson has residents in their state employed by oil & gas. Given this, can we truly expect any positive outcomes for the environmental movement from the Deepwater Horizonmassive oil spill in the Gulf Coast region?  Mississippi oil spill lawyers representing large numbers of out of work fishermen, shrimpers & oystermen may create litigation on multiple fronts, against oil & gas companies, federal government agencies and state and local governments while trying to defend their clients livelihood.   These lawsuits could be what causes legislation to finally occur.

We can only hope that such a reevaluation of priorities will occur after this, the worst global ecological disaster of time.  As Americans continue to see images of crude-soaked birds, it is hard to ignore that our nation’s dependence on oil needs to be reconsidered.  Such a traumatic disaster as this should also highlight all the negative consequences of oil, from national security threats to the risks of climate change.  President Obama must deliver on his promised priority of a new economy of green jobs and clean energy; his recent rhetoric indicates that he intends to use the Gulf Coast oil spill as a platform to start this work.  However, as those who lost their jobs, business or even way of life due to the oil spill may point out: words are only words and action is what is needed.  In the wake of this tragedy, Americans must not settle for this to be resolved through just another class action oil spill lawsuit, and also start demanding clean energy options and the infrastructure that will allow us to reduce our national energy consumption.

Where Did The 3,000 Mile Motor Oil Change Come From

September 1st, 2010

Where did the three thousand mile motor oil change come from? That change interval has been around somewhere between 30 and 80 years .  It makes me wonder who was the first to establish oil changes had to happen every 3,000 miles .

Time has changed a few things now!  Short commutes to your job seem to be a thing of the past.  Folks are living further and further from their employment every year .  Longer travel distances means more driving and more use of oil…

Dirt and gravel roads used to be a regular part of driving and those are all but gone from the average drive .  A dust free daily commute is a big difference from years ago .  Dust and dirt raise hell for an engine .  This creates a severe operating environment for engines and engine oil .  With most of the dirty driving behind us as more and more roads are paved, gone is the need to change motor oil as frequently.

Do you remember when you were excited when engines lasted seventy thousand miles.  It is a recent improvement but seems like it was only the 1980s when vehicle longevity improved significantly.  Engine materials and manufacturing tolerances improved and when that happened it increased the capability of extending oil changes with the right oil.

Where is the 3,000 mile oil change now?  I don’t know because I am not seeing it suggested in the manual for any of my vehicles.  I am seeing a lot of oil bottles that have higher numbers than 3,000 on them.  So who is still spreading this 3,000 mile oil myth?  It is hard to tell but I have to believe whomever is doing it has some money in the game.  Time may tell.

Are there some oils that will last longer than others… find out in the best motor oil review .
